By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, the office ensures that MUBAS remains competitive, credible, and responsive to the evolving demands of higher education.


At its core, the Office of the Head of Quality Assurance designs, implements, and monitors quality assurance policies, procedures, and frameworks across the university. This includes overseeing program accreditation, curriculum reviews, teaching evaluations, and internal audits. Working in close collaboration with the University Senate, Deans, Heads of Departments, and administrative units, the office ensures that MUBAS delivers high-quality teaching, research, and community service in line with its mission.


One of the key responsibilities of the office is coordinating the preparation of self-assessment reports and facilitating external evaluations for accreditation purposes. It also develops performance indicators and quality metrics that guide decision-making at all levels of the institution. Regular academic audits, student satisfaction surveys, and peer reviews are conducted to identify areas for improvement and to track progress against strategic goals.


The office’s mandate extends beyond academic quality to include operational and service quality. This means ensuring that student services, administrative processes, infrastructure maintenance, and ICT systems operate efficiently and meet the needs of the university community. Through workshops, seminars, and policy briefs, the Head of Quality Assurance promotes awareness and understanding of quality principles among both academic and non-academic staff.


The Office of the Head of Quality Assurance is also central to MUBAS’s strategic planning process. By analyzing institutional performance data and benchmarking against peer institutions, the office provides evidence-based recommendations for enhancing competitiveness and reputation. It also ensures that MUBAS complies with the quality requirements set by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and other regulatory bodies.
