Dr. Adamson Lyson Thengolose is tasked with ensuring the delivery of high-quality education that conforms to both national and international standards at MUBAS. His key responsibilities include developing, reviewing, and monitoring quality assurance policies and strategies, leading the creation of robust academic regulatory frameworks, and enforcing compliance with external regulatory and professional bodies. He also plays a central role in coordinating academic audits, institutional assessments, and fostering partnerships with government, industry, and development partners.
An experienced quality assurance professional, Dr. Thengolose’s expertise is built on a strong academic foundation, including a PhD in Environmental Engineering and professional certificates in quality assurance. He brings a wealth of practical experience from previous senior roles, having served as the Quality Assurance Director at The Polytechnic and later holding key positions at the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), including Quality Assurance Manager and Deputy Director of Registration and Accreditation Services.
A key achievement in his career has been the institutionalization of a quality culture at MUBAS through the development and implementation of comprehensive Quality Assurance and Enhancement policies and regulations. His professional interests are focused on quality assurance in higher education, service delivery, and mathematical modelling.
Dr. Thengolose’s personal vision is to operate a world-class academic quality assurance function to underpin the University’s broader vision. He aims to achieve this by promoting a culture of continuous quality enhancement, developing an institutional quality management framework to uphold academic standards, and creating an enabling environment that increases the university's relevance to national and global development.
