The Office of the Executive Dean, School of Education, Communication and Media Studies provides the strategic academic and administrative leadership for the School of Business and Economic Sciences. Acting as the chief academic and operational officer, the Executive Dean reports directly to the Deputy Vice Chancellor and is responsible for leading the Heads of Academic Departments and Centre Managers within the school.

The core duties of the office encompass providing strategic direction for the School's plans, budgets, and academic programmes; monitoring the implementation of institutional policies and quality assurance standards; and fostering an environment conducive to research, innovation, and professional development.


The Executive Dean is also responsible for developing resource mobilization strategies, building partnerships with industry and international institutions, and overseeing the recruitment and mentorship of academic staff and students.


This office is fundamental to the academic vitality of MUBAS, ensuring that the School of Education, Communication and Media Studies operates as a dynamic, high-performing unit dedicated to advancing the university's mission of excellence in teaching, research, and outreach.
