The Vice Chancellor serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the University and is accountable to the Chancellor for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the institution. The Office oversees key university executives, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Executive Deans, Director of Finance and Investment, Registrar, Librarian, Head of ICT, and Head of Procurement—ensuring that all arms of the University operate in harmony towards a shared vision.

In this capacity, the Vice Chancellor is responsible for the formulation, execution, and monitoring of university strategies, plans, and performance frameworks. This includes overseeing the periodic preparation of institutional reports, ensuring the regular review and modernization of academic programmes, and maintaining the highest standards in teaching, research, and innovation. The Vice Chancellor also ensures the prudent and effective use of human, financial, and physical resources across the institution.

Beyond the internal management role, the Vice Chancellor is the public face and principal ambassador of MUBAS. The Office represents the University in national, regional, and international forums, fostering strategic partnerships with government, academia, industry, and development partners. As the chief advocate for the institution, the Vice Chancellor champions initiatives that enhance MUBAS’s visibility, reputation, and capacity to attract investment and collaboration.

Ultimately, the Office of the Vice Chancellor stands as the custodian of the University’s vision, mission, and values, guiding MUBAS towards academic distinction, societal relevance, and sustainable impact.
