Anthony Sinya Kampingo Ziba provides strategic leadership for Information and Communication Technologies at MUBAS. His role involves advising university management, developing and executing a comprehensive ICT strategy aligned with the institution's goals, and leading the ICT department. He is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the university's ICT infrastructure, driving digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring the security, reliability, and availability of all systems and networks through robust cybersecurity measures.
A highly qualified ICT professional and scholar, Anthony holds a PhD in Information Systems and an MSc in Information Technology from Edinburgh Napier University in the UK, complemented by a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Malawi. He further strengthens his expertise with prestigious professional certifications, including Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and ISO 27001 Certified Senior Lead Implementer.
His professional background includes significant leadership experience, having previously served as the Director of ICT for Malawi's Financial Intelligence Authority and worked in IT roles in the United Kingdom. His research interests are centered on the socio-technical aspects of cybersecurity, specifically using Socio-Technical Interaction Networks (STINs) to understand the interplay between human behavior and technology in cyber threats. He has contributed to this field through several publications, including book chapters and conference papers.
Anthony’s vision for MUBAS is to create “a resilient, agile, and secure MUBAS ICT platform that provides an enabling environment for innovation, digital transformation, and delivery of high-quality services.”
