The Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at MUBAS provides visionary academic and administrative leadership to a dynamic department focused on advancing education, research, and innovation in electrical and electronic engineering. The role is critical in preparing highly skilled engineers to meet Malawi’s growing demands in power systems, telecommunications, control systems, renewable energy, and electronics.


The Head is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of cutting-edge undergraduate and postgraduate programs, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and national development goals. This includes fostering collaborations with industry partners, promoting research and innovation, and ensuring quality assurance and accreditation compliance.


Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading curriculum development, implementation, and continuous improvement of electrical engineering programs.
  2. Managing departmental resources, budgeting, and staffing.
  3. Supporting faculty research, professional growth, and consultancy activities.
  4. Ensuring compliance with academic policies and engineering accreditation standards.
  5. Building partnerships with industry, government, and professional organizations to enhance practical training and research impact.
