TotalEnergies Malawi Recognizes 17 MUBAS Students for Academic Excellence

TotalEnergies Malawi on 10 October, 2025 awarded 17 students from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) for outstanding academic performance in their respective programmes.

Speaking during the awards presentation ceremony at MUBAS ODeL Auditorium in Blantyre, TotalEnergies Malawi Corporate Affairs Manager, Sekaninge Kaliati, said the gesture is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility pillars that has been in existence for 54 years.

“One of our corporate social responsibility pillars is youth inclusion and education, and we assure you, MUBAS awards are not going anywhere,” she said.

Kaliati further encouraged students to remain focused and driven as they pursue their academic and professional goals.

“If you are focused and hardworking, you can achieve whatever you want, your achievements today are a testament to your dedication and talent, but to remain a high achiever in life, you must stay committed and focused,” she advised.

The Executive Dean of the School of Business and Economic Sciences at MUBAS, Dr. Rabiya Hanif commended TotalEnergies for its unwavering commitment to supporting education at the university. 

“Thank you, TotalEnergies, for empowering these bright minds and believing in the power of education,” Hanif said.” 

“MUBAS is an inclusive university that leaves no one behind not even on account of financial constraints and what TotalEnergies has done supports that mission,” she added.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Grace Mukhuna expressed gratitude to TotalEnergies for their continued support to MUBAS.

“This award motivates us to aim higher and inspire others to do the same. Thank you, TotalEnergies Malawi, for your continued support,” she said. 

The 17 awardees who are from the School of Business and Economic Sciences and the School of Engineering. Among the group some received K325,000  while others received K650,000.
