MUBAS Launches Executive Management and Leadership Programme
Speaking during the launch at TFM Center of Excellence in Blantyre, MDC Manager, Dr. Ella Kangaude, emphasized the need for visionary and transformational leaders to drive productivity and national development in Malawi's fast-changing business environment.
"By studying locally, participants can gain practical insights and skills relevant to the Malawian context, which might be missed in foreign programs. I encourage Malawians to utilize this valuable opportunity and be part of shaping the next generation of leaders,” Kangaude said.
Guest of honor, Professor of Finance and Corporate Strategy at MUST, Professor James Kamwachale Khomba, commended MUBAS for this initiative, describing it as a good development for the country.
He challenged participants to take the program seriously, advising them to view it as a turning point in their professional journey.
"The nation doesn’t need more managers; it needs torchbearer leaders who serve before they command, create value without noise, act with clarity not convenience, and lead not just with intelligence but with integrity," he said.
In an interview, Sheila Msowoya, Retail Sales Manager at Wella Medical Aid Society, was enthusiastic about the programme, saying: "As a manager, I believe I still have to learn new things so that I can be a good leader and a good manager as well."
The first cohort of the programme comprises 12 participants from diverse sectors. The Centre is expected to recruit the next intake next year.
