MUBAS eyes more international partnerships

The Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), through the School of Business and Economic Sciences (SOBES), and the University of Heriot-Watt through the Edinburgh Business School, on 9 October, 2025 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote international co-operation through academic collaboration and to foster a mutually beneficial relationship between the two institutions.

According to the agreement, which was signed at MUBAS Campus in Blantyre, the two institutions will collaborate to develop joint degree programmes, research, staff and students exchange visits publications and other areas of mutual interests.

The partnership will also include cooperation in the delivery of their respective Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes. The parties have also agreed to explore opportunities for the articulation and progression of qualified students into relevant undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes offered at their institutions to allow advanced entry by agreed models. 

MUBAS Vice-Chancellor Associate Professor Nancy Chitera  signed the agreement on behalf of MUBAS, while Dr. Byran Rodgers, Associate Executive Dean for Internationalisation and Partnerships, and Global Director of MBA Partnerships signed on behalf of Heriot Watt University.
