Financial Assistance
Accessible Funding for Every Student
At MUBAS, we believe that financial challenges should not stand in the way of academic success. Through the Directorate of Student Affairs, we assist underprivileged students in accessing loans, scholarships, and other funding opportunities to support their education. This is to ensure that every student regardless of economic status graduates.

Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB)

Established under Parliamentary Act No. 2 of 2015, the HESLGB provides financial support to needy and deserving students in Malawi. Its mandate is twofold:

  1. To disburse loans annually to eligible students pursuing higher education in accredited programs at both public and private institutions registered with the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
  2. To promote equitable access to higher education for underprivileged students.

Kwera Fund

The Kwera Fund provides financial support to students enrolled in local universities, while also helping them develop employability and entrepreneurship skills to prepare for life after graduation.
