Audited Financial Statements 2022
The financial statements for the nine-month period ending 31st March 2022 mark a significant positive turnaround for MUBAS. The university successfully moved from a substantial deficit in the previous year to achieving a surplus, demonstrating improved financial health and management. The Auditor General issued a clean audit opinion, confirming that the statements accurately represent the university's financial status in accordance with international standards.

MUBAS reported a strong operational performance, generating a surplus of K 1.76 billion before adjustments, a dramatic improvement from the K 221.8 million deficit of the prior year. After accounting for fund transfers and capital expenditures, the university ended the period with a net surplus of K 144.46 million. This is a notable recovery from the K 1.03 billion net loss experienced in the 2021 financial year. Furthermore, MUBAS strengthened its overall financial position, with total assets growing to K 49.18 billion. A key highlight is the significant improvement in liquidity, where cash and cash equivalents increased to K 5.41 billion, up from K 3.26 billion.
