June 11, 2025 was a memorable day for 30 participants as they received certificates after completing a four-month training at the Management Development Centre (MDC), a semi-autonomous unit under the School of Business and Economic Sciences (SOBES) at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS).

In her speech, Executive Dean of SOBES, Dr. Rabiya Hanif, congratulated the participants, saying: “Today marks the culmination of your hard work, dedication, and commitment to professional growth. You have equipped yourselves with valuable knowledge essential in today's dynamic business and legal landscapes.’’

Hanif also hailed MDC and SOBES for delivering programmes that effectively blend theory with practical application, ensuring that participants are not only certified but truly competent.

The MDC Manager, Dr. Ella Kangaude, encouraged the participants to put their acquired knowledge into practice.

“These certificates are not just for show. They are proof that you’ve gone through the programme and you are expected to live up to it. They testify to your expertise,” she said.

Kelvin Chiumia, a Marketing Representative, noted that balancing work, family, and studies was a challenge that was worthy overcoming.

“This certificate proves we've chosen growth over comfort,” said Chiumia.

Among the 30 participants, 14 awarded certificates in Law and 16 in Marketing.

The Management Development Centre remains committed to equipping professionals with relevant knowledge and skills.
