Additionally, JAEST is committed to upholding the principles of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in its peer-review and editorial processes. It strives to make the review process timely, respectful, and enriching for both authors and reviewers.
Publishing Rights
By submitting a manuscript to JAEST, the author(s) hereby grant the publisher a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, publish, distribute, transmit, display, and store the work, in whole or in part, in any form, format, or medium, whether now known or later developed. This license includes the right to translate the work, create abstracts, and index it in electronic databases.
Upon acceptance for publication, the author(s) agree to execute a formal transfer of copyright to the journal. Notwithstanding this transfer, the author(s) shall retain all proprietary rights in any ideas, processes, procedures, or articles of manufacture described in the work, and may reuse the content in future works provided proper acknowledgment of the original publication in JAEST is made.
Author Warranties
By submitting a manuscript to JAEST, the author(s) represent and warrant that:
- The work is the sole, original creation of the author(s) and does not infringe upon any existing copyright, trademark, trade secret, or other proprietary right.
- The work has not been previously published, in whole or in part, in any format or medium, and is not currently under review by any other journal or publisher.
- The work will not be submitted to any other publication while under consideration by JAEST, except in cases of formal withdrawal or rejection.
- All data, results, and statements contained in the work are accurate to the best of the author(s)’ knowledge and comply with applicable ethical and legal standards.
- All necessary permissions for the reproduction of copyrighted material, data, figures, or tables from other sources have been obtained prior to submission.
Copyright & License Terms
Authors publishing in this journal retain full ownership of their creative and scholarly work. By contributing to this journal, they grant it the privilege of first publication while simultaneously offering their work to the world under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This license is a philosophical commitment to the free circulation of knowledge. Once knowledge enters the public realm, it should move freely, sparking new ideas, fostering dialogue, and transcending the boundaries of ownership. Under this license, readers are free to use, share, adapt, and build upon the work in any medium, provided proper credit is given to the original authors and source. Such attribution is not merely a formality but an ethical gesture, honoring intellectual lineage and the collective pursuit of understanding.
Authors are encouraged to actively disseminate their published work through institutional repositories, personal archives, and open platforms, contributing to a dynamic, accessible ecosystem where scholarship is not the privilege of the few but the right of all.
By submitting to this journal, authors consciously enter into this covenant of openness, affirming their commitment to the unrestricted sharing of knowledge as a cornerstone of academic integrity and societal advancement.
Ethics & Malpractice Policy
We adhere to COPE guidelines. Misconduct such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication is not tolerated.
Disclaimer
JAEST will not be responsible for any claim, loss or liability attributable to errors, inaccuracies or other defects in the site or any part thereof whether arising from any intentional act or omission or (to the maximum extent permitted by relevant laws) any negligence or otherwise, and the parties expressly exclude any liability for breach of any implied or express warranty as to title, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. JAEST will not be liable for any direct or indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of use of any of the website.
Plagiarism Policy
JAEST upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism in any form. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Directly copying text, data, images, or ideas from other sources without appropriate acknowledgment.
- Paraphrasing substantial parts of another work without proper citation.
- Submitting the same work to multiple journals simultaneously (self-plagiarism or redundant publication) without disclosure.
- Reusing one’s previously published content without referencing the original work.
Plagiarism Screening Policy
All manuscripts submitted to JAEST are subject to plagiarism detection using reliable software tools. Manuscripts found to contain significant plagiarism (including unattributed copying, excessive text similarity, or duplicate publication) will be immediately rejected.
In cases where minor similarity is detected (e.g., less than 15% and limited to common phrases or background information), authors may be asked to revise the manuscript to ensure originality.
Handling of Plagiarism Cases
JAEST follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) when dealing with suspected plagiarism. The editorial team will:
Notify the authors of any detected plagiarism and provide an opportunity for explanation or correction.
Reject submissions with confirmed major plagiarism or unethical duplication.
Retract published articles if substantial plagiarism is discovered post-publication, with a formal notice of retraction issued.
Inform the authors' affiliated institutions in severe cases of misconduct.
Peer Review Policy
All submitted manuscripts are evaluated by independent reviewers within the same field of expertise. The peer review process is a double-blind, multi-step Editorial/Open peer review process described as follows:
- JAEST's policy is to obtain two reviews per paper; however, papers first undergo an initial quality/relevance assessment by the editor upon receipt.
- Editor selects a topical/associate editor overseeing the appropriate technical subfield of your manuscript, who then sends your manuscript to anonymous reviewers. Reviewers are allowed time to complete their review and submit comments to the editor. The editor selects reviewers who are experts in the field of your manuscript.
- Reviewers provide comments aimed at helping create a better manuscript. The editor makes a publication decision based on the reviews and sends out a decision letter as follows:
- The manuscript is acceptable for publication.
- The manuscript requires further revisions.
- The manuscript is not acceptable for publication.
- The manuscript is more appropriate for another Journal.
- If a manuscript needs modifications:
- Authors may resubmit after revisions have been made (use a response letter to explain each change, point by point).
- The editor decides whether to accept the revised manuscript or refer it back to reviewers for further comment.
- The editor makes the final decision.
- If a manuscript is rejected authors are encouraged to act on the reviewers' reports as this will lead to a quality paper before submitting elsewhere.
- JAEST aims to reach a final decision on publication within two to four months of submission for all articles. Accepted articles are published electronically on the journal website as they become ready. Once published online, articles are then selected for a subsequent print issue.
