The initiative aimed to allow students and members of staff at the university to donate blood in an effort to support the national blood reserves.
Speaking during the exercise, The Head of Open Distance e-Learning (ODeL) at MUBAS, Dr. Annie Chizengo, commended the collaboration between MUBAS and MBTS.
She emphasized the significance of the exercise highlighting the positive impact this community engagement will have on Malawi’s healthcare sector.
“The blood donation will go a long way in saving lives of people in the country’s hospitals. The exercise will help to boost the blood banks at MBTS” she said.
The turnout for the event was impressive, with MUBAS students and staff members voluntarily participating. This demonstrated their commitment to social responsibility and their willingness to address pressing national health issues.
